3. Interface and Dimensions

4. Luckfox Aura Usage Guide

Currently, the Luckfox Aura supports the IMX415 camera. To test a CSI camera, please connect it to the CSI0 interface, as the default device tree enables CSI0. It is recommended to connect a DSI display as well, so that the camera output can be viewed directly on the screen after boot.

Please note that on the Luckfox Aura development board, the CSI (camera) and DSI (display) connectors have similar form factors. Make sure not to connect them incorrectly. Always verify the interface location using the silkscreen or refer to the hardware schematic.

4.1 Hardware Connection

  • Camera side: The metal contacts of the ribbon cable should face the back of the camera, and the blue side should face the lens direction.
  • Board side: Insert the ribbon cable into the CSI connector on the board with the metal contacts facing toward the Ethernet port, and ensure the connector is securely locked.

4.2 Streaming with VLC Media Player

  1. Download and install VLC Media Player.

  2. Open VLC Media Player, then go to Media → Open Network Stream.

  3. Enter the default IP address: rtsp://<Actual_IP_of_the_Dev_Board>/live/0

  4. lick Play to view the camera feed. You can rotate the lens to adjust focus.

TIP

When connecting the camera and display for testing, please make sure to stop RKIPC from occupying the audio resources beforehand to avoid conflicts.

sudo su
RkLunch-stop-RKIPC_RV1126B.sh
v4l2-ctl --device=/dev/video13 --set-fmt-video=width=1920,height=1080,pixelformat=NV12 --stream-mmap --stream-to=video50.yuv --stream-count=30
  1. Preview video:
    • Preview YUV data on a desktop Ubuntu system or virtual machine:
v4l2-ctl -d /dev/video11 --set-fmt-video=width=3840,height=2160,pixelformat=NV12 --stream-mmap=4 --stream-count=1 --stream-to=/root/cap1.raw --stream-skip=2
  • Use yuvplayer on Windows to preview YUV image data:
TIP

After loading the image, make sure to correctly set the Size (resolution) and Color (pixel format) parameters in the software.
